The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reported that in April 2026, Peru's trade balance recorded a monthly surplus of USD 3,304 million, accumulating USD 43 billion over the last twelve months. This was driven by a significant 51.1 percent year-on-year increase in exports, totaling USD 9,329 million, primarily due to higher prices and volumes of mining products. Imports also rose by 34.0 percent year-on-year to USD 6,025 million, mainly from increased purchases of durable consumer goods, oil derivatives, and capital goods.
