Banque centrale du Luxembourg issued the 2023 wave of the Luxembourg Household Finance and Consumption Survey, revealing that household net wealth declined by 15% in real terms between 2021 and 2023 due to falling asset values. While household debt decreased by 7% and the proportion of indebted households dropped, debt service ratios rose slightly due to increasing interest rates. Wealth inequality remained virtually unchanged, with the top 5% of households holding one-third of aggregate net wealth.
