Thematic Review of Cybersecurity Risk Management Practices
The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago issued a circular letter to all commercial banks licensed under the Financial Institutions Act, 2008, submitting the final report of its Thematic Review of Cybersecurity Risk Management Practices. The review, conducted across seven commercial banks starting in 2020, evaluated cybersecurity frameworks against the FFIEC 2017 Cybersecurity Assessment Tool across five domains including risk management, threat intelligence, controls, external dependencies, and incident resilience. The document requires institutions to table the report at their next Board of Directors meeting for consideration to improve industry-wide cybersecurity practices.
