Transfer of Foreign Pension Rights to the Netherlands

Individuals may transfer the value of pension rights accrued abroad to a Dutch pension provider, provided the law of the country of origin permits such a transfer. The Netherlands imposes no statutory restrictions on these transfers, though Dutch pension providers may be obliged or authorized to cooperate under Sections 91 and 92 of the Pensions Act. Applicants must contact both the foreign pension provider and the relevant Dutch entity, such as a pension fund or life insurer, to facilitate the process.
