The Bank of England, Prudential Regulation Authority, and Financial Conduct Authority will jointly oversee the first Critical Third Parties starting 13 July 2026 following designation by HM Treasury. This new regime targets major technology providers, including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Oracle, to manage systemic risks and ensure the resilience of services underpinning the UK financial system. The oversight complements existing outsourcing rules by requiring these providers to effectively identify risks and maintain open communication with regulators during incidents.
