Update of Rule No. (300-1-3-6) of the Account Opening Rules

Banks and financial institutions operating in the Kingdom must open one guarantee account per project, naming it with the project and developer names, and permit linked subsidiary accounts for specific purposes. Disbursements require checks or transfers based on documents countersigned by consultants and accountants, submitted via secure technological means, while deposits must be non-cash. Banks are prohibited from issuing ATM cards, placing liens, or transferring funds to non-subsidiary accounts, and cannot close the account without Authority approval. This rule replaces previous requirements for off-plan property and joint venture guarantee accounts, effective immediately.
