WARNING: Investment Fraud Utilizing the Image and Data of CNPF-Authorized Companies
The National Financial Supervisory Authority (CNPF) of Moldova warns the public against sophisticated online investment fraud schemes that impersonate authorized entities and public figures using deepfakes, cloned websites, and sponsored social media ads. The regulator mandates that consumers verify all investment offers exclusively through official CNPF-authorized channels, refuse unsolicited contact or remote device access, and immediately report suspicious activities to law enforcement or the CNPF. It further clarifies that only licensed entities may legally provide banking or investment services in Moldova, and unlicensed interactions void consumers from legal protections or compensation mechanisms.
