Weekly Information Summary: September 17, 2026 x

  • In July 2026, the agricultural sector decreased 1.2 percent year-on-year. A
drop in rice and potato production was observed, due to the advance of harvests in previous months; avocado, due to reduced harvests; olive, due to overproduction in the previous year; and hard yellow corn and sugarcane, due to lower yields. These results were mitigated by higher production of blueberries, coffee, cassava and poultry meat. A decrease of 0.7 percent was accumulated in the year to date.
  • The fishing activity registered a reduction of 27.4 percent in July 2026,
due mainly to the lower catch of anchoveta in the north-central region and, to a lesser extent, to the lower availability of trout, which affected the yield of continental fishing. The sector had a drop of 32.6 percent in the period January-July.
  • The metallic mining sector grew 1.1 percent year-on-year in July 2026, reflecting
mainly the higher production of copper, gold, molybdenum, silver, iron and tin. From January to July, the sector achieved an expansion of 0.7 percent.
  • In July 2026, hydrocarbon production decreased 5.1 percent year-on-year,
resulting from lower oil production, associated with the drop in the yield of lot 95, and natural gas liquids. This was mitigated by higher natural gas production (9.6 percent). Between January and July, the sector accumulated a drop of 10.2 percent.
  • Primary resource manufacturing decreased 6.0 percent in July 2026,
mainly due to lower production of fishmeal and fish oil, derived from the El Niño Phenomenon. The sector registered a drop of 8.7 percent in the January-July period.
  • In July 2026, non-primary manufacturing decreased 0.3 percent year-on-year
due to lower production of mass consumption goods and those oriented to the external market. In the year to date, the sector accumulates a growth of 1.0 percent.
  • The production of the electricity, water and gas sector in July 2026 increased
7.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, favored by higher
residential and commercial consumption due to higher environmental temperatures. From January to July the sector grew 4.7 percent.
  • In July 2026, the construction activity increased 9.9 percent year-on-year,
due to higher private and public works. The sector accumulates an expansion of 10.7 percent in the January-July period.
  • The commerce sector registered a year-on-year increase of 6.8 percent in July of
2026, sustained by wholesale and retail sales, favored by offer campaigns for National Holidays. Between January and July, the sector increased 6.3 percent.
  • In July 2026, the services sector grew 4.7 percent year-on-year, with the
positive contributions of all its subsectors. The sector accumulates an expansion of 4.4 percent in the year to date.

Weekly Information Summary: September 17, 2026 xi NON-FINANCIAL PUBLIC SECTOR OPERATIONS FOR AUGUST 2026 According to preliminary information, between July and August 2026, the fiscal deficit in the last twelve months remained at the equivalent of 1.0 percent of GDP, due to the reduction of non-financial expenditures as a percentage of GDP was compensated by higher interest service on internal debt. In August 2026, the non-financial public sector would register a deficit of S/ 4,076 million, slightly higher than that registered in August 2025, which is explained by the higher interest service on debt and non-financial expenditures, compensated in part by the higher level of tax revenues. In the January-August 2026 period, the fiscal surplus would amount to S/ 5,546 million, a result that contrasts with the deficit registered in the same period of 2025 (-S/ 7,323 million). Current revenues of the general government grew 13.1 percent year-on-year in August 2026, explained by the increase in tax revenues, particularly by higher collection of income tax, VAT, Excise Tax and Special Mining Tax (IEM), in addition, to a lower level of refunds. Non-tax revenues fell due mainly to the recording of a lower transfer of profits from a financial entity to the Public Treasury. General government non-financial expenditure increased 8.4 percent year-on-year in August 2026, at the three levels of government. By expenditure items, current expenditures expanded mainly due to increase in remuneration and transfers; while capital expenditures decreased due to a lower level of other capital expenditures, which reflects lower expenditure on honoring Petroperú guarantees, compensated in part by higher gross capital formation, particularly from subnational governments.
