Withdrawal and Suspension of Ratings

The Pakistan Credit Rating Agency Limited (PACRA) establishes clear criteria and procedures for withdrawing or suspending credit ratings when specific operational or financial conditions arise. Ratings are withdrawn upon client request, entity reorganization, instrument maturity or redemption, default, conflicts of interest, or prolonged suspension exceeding six months, while suspensions indicate a temporary inability to update ratings. PACRA mandates timely public announcements via press releases, quarterly regulatory reporting to the SECP, and Rating Committee oversight to ensure accurate, transparent rating status updates.
