Regulation on Non-Performing Exposures and Forbearance

The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo issued this regulation to establish criteria for classifying non-performing exposures and forborne loans for all licensed banks. It mandates that exposures be classified as non-performing if they are over 90 days past due or if the debtor is unlikely to pay without collateral, while defining forbearance as concessions granted to debtors facing financial difficulties. The document further specifies the conditions for reclassifying exposures as performing and requires banks to submit monthly reports to the regulator starting in January 2020.
