The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision to withdraw 50 pfennig convertible mark banknotes from circulation. Commercial banks are required to process these withdrawals between January 1, 2003, and March 31, 2003, while the notes remain legal tender for payments until December 31, 2002. After January 1, 2003, the banknotes cease to be legal tender and cannot be used to settle any obligations.
