CMN Resolution No. 4803 - Criteria for Measuring Provision for Doubtful Loan Losses on Renegotiated Operations Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic

The Central Bank of Brazil, via CMN Resolution No. 4803, permits financial institutions to reclassify renegotiated operations from March 1 to September 30, 2020, back to their credit risk classification levels as of February 29, 2020. This reclassification is excluded for operations with payment delays of fifteen days or more on the reference date or those showing evidence of the counterparty's inability to meet new obligations. Institutions must retain credit analysis documentation for a minimum of five years for regulatory review.
