Prudential Standard LPS 100 Solvency Standard

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority issued Prudential Standard LPS 100 to require all life insurers, including friendly societies, to maintain minimum capital levels for their statutory funds. The standard mandates that a fund's capital base must exceed 90 per cent of its prescribed capital amount to satisfy solvency requirements under the Life Insurance Act 1995. APRA retains the authority to adjust or exclude specific requirements for individual life companies through written notice.
