The Securities (Substantial Shareholder Vetting) Guidelines, 2024

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Zambia issued these guidelines to establish mandatory vetting criteria for substantial shareholders and beneficial owners in the capital markets. The regulations require applicants for licenses, securities registration, and authorizations to submit detailed personal and financial information to verify fitness and probity. The Commission conducts background checks and may impose penalties or revoke licenses if individuals are found to be unfit or if reporting obligations are neglected.
