Master Circular for Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued this Master Circular to consolidate all operational circulars and directions applicable to Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents (RTAs) into a single document. The circular rescinds previous individual circulars while ensuring that all actions, liabilities, and pending applications taken under the rescinded rules remain legally valid under the corresponding provisions of this new Master Circular. It establishes comprehensive regulatory frameworks covering RTA registration, general obligations, demat and transfer procedures, investor grievance redressal, and cybersecurity standards.
