CB Circular No. 10/2020: Implementation of Measures to Minimise the Spread of COVID-19

The World Health Organization’s pandemic declaration prompted the Bank of Zambia to issue Circular No. 10/2020, requiring commercial banks to implement targeted operational measures. Institutions must promote digital transactions, enforce social distancing and extended operating hours, maintain customer visit registers, ensure rigorous hygiene standards at all locations, and provide face masks and latex gloves to frontline staff. These mandated adjustments will decongest branches, safeguard public health, and maintain uninterrupted banking services throughout the crisis.
