The Central Bank of Myanmar issued Instruction 12-2021 on September 10, 2021, to standardize foreign exchange transaction pricing. Authorized Dealer banks and Money Changer institutions must now execute all foreign currency purchases, sales, and transfers within a ±0.8 percent trading band around the CBM Reference Rate Mid-Rate. This directive replaces previous pricing flexibility by mandating strict adherence to the specified band, ensuring consistent mid-rate calculations across licensed financial entities.
