External Circular Letter GE-0203-2026, Subject: Law 2578 of June 1, 2026 – Declaration of Public Holiday
The Bank of the Republic issued Circular GE-0203-2026 to announce the suspension of specific financial services and public counter operations on Monday, July 13, 2026, in observance of the national holiday for the Virgin of Chiquinquirá. The directive mandates that settlement systems including CUD, DCV, CEDEC, and CENIT will be closed, with related cheque return and liquidity compensation processes resuming on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. While 24/7 infrastructure services like Bre-B remain operational, the Bank's treasury windows and the external debt payment system will be closed, and the holiday will be treated under standard official public holiday guidelines.
