PS19/11: Product intervention measures for retail binary options

The Financial Conduct Authority permanently prohibits the sale, marketing, and distribution of all binary options, including securitised binary options, to retail consumers. This ban applies to UK MiFID investment firms, EEA MiFID investment firms, and UK branches of third-country investment firms carrying out activity in or from the UK. The rules come into force on 2 April 2019, requiring firms to immediately cease these activities and update their permissions accordingly.
