The securities regulatory authority has issued amendments to the Policy Statement to Regulation 25-102 to clarify the designation criteria for benchmarks specifically within Québec. These changes insert provisions requiring that designated benchmarks meet specific criteria and conditions established under subsections 1(8.1) to 1(8.5) of the Regulation to fall into categories such as critical, interest rate, commodity, or regulated-data benchmarks. The amendments also adjust references to staff roles by adding an exception for Québec to ensure consistent application of the regulatory framework across jurisdictions.
