Annual disclosure regarding the designation of and capital buffers on Belgian O-SIIs (1 December 2023)
The National Bank of Belgium identifies eight institutions as other systemically important institutions (O-SIIs): KBC Group, BNP Paribas Fortis, Euroclear Holding, ING Belgium, Belfius Bank, The Bank of New York Mellon, Investeringsmaatschappij Argenta, and Crelan. Additional core equity tier-1 capital buffers are set at 1.5% for KBC Group, BNP Paribas Fortis, Euroclear Holding, ING Belgium, and Belfius Bank, and at 0.75% for The Bank of New York Mellon, Investeringsmaatschappij Argenta, and Crelan. Euroclear Holding receives an increased buffer due to a rise in its systemic importance score, while the buffer levels for the other seven institutions remain unchanged from 2022. These additional capital requirements enter into force on 1 January 2024.
