Annual disclosure regarding the designation of and capital surcharges on Belgian O-SIIs (1 December 2020)
The NBB maintains the O-SII designations for eight Belgian institutions: BNP Paribas Fortis, KBC Group, ING Belgium, Belfius Bank, Euroclear, The Bank of New York Mellon, Argenta, and Axa Bank Belgium. BNP Paribas Fortis, KBC Group, ING Belgium, and Belfius Bank are assigned to Bucket 2 with a 1.5% CET1 capital surcharge, while Euroclear, The Bank of New York Mellon, Argenta, and Axa Bank Belgium are assigned to Bucket 1 with a 0.75% CET1 capital surcharge. These surcharges, originally announced in 2015 and phased in starting January 2016, remain unchanged for this annual review.
