AUSTRAC has finalised an enforceable undertaking with Sportsbet Pty Ltd after the company remediated serious deficiencies in its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing controls. The agreement, accepted in May 2024, required Sportsbet to significantly uplift its systems, governance, and risk assessment processes to meet legal obligations. Independent assurance confirms that all required remediation has been implemented, allowing AUSTRAC to conclude the enforcement action while continuing to monitor the sector.
