CONCERNING
REVOCATION AND WITHDRAWAL FROM CIRCULATION OF THE YEAR 1998 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 10,000 (TEN THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMINATION, THE YEAR 1998 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 20,000 (TWENTY THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMINATION, THE YEAR 1999 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 50,000 (FIFTY THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMINATION, AND THE YEAR 1999 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 100,000 (ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMONATION THE GOVERNOR OF BANK INDONESIA, Considering: a. Whereas the year 1998 and 2005 issue of banknotes in the 10,000 (ten thousand) rupiah denomination, the year 1998 and 2004 issue of banknotes in the 20,000 (twenty thousand) rupiah denomination, the year 1999 and 2005 issue of banknotes in the 50,000 (fifty thousand) rupiah denomination, and the year 1999 and 2005 issue of banknotes in the 100,000 (one hundred thousand) rupiah denomination have been in circulation; b. Whereas the year 1998 issue of banknotes in the 10,000 (ten thousand) rupiah denomination, the year 1998 issue of banknotes in the 20,000 (twenty thousand) rupiah denomination, the year 1999 issue of banknotes in the 50,000 (fifty thousand) rupiah denomination, and the year 1999 issue of banknotes in the 100,000 (one hundred thousand) rupiah denomination have long been in circulation;
c. Whereas based on the consideration referred to in letter a and letter
b, it is deemed necessary to enact the revocation and withdrawal from circulation of the year 1998 issue of banknotes in the 10,000 (ten thousand) rupiah denomination, the year 1998 issue of banknotes in the 20,000 (twenty thousand) rupiah denomination, the year 1999 issue of banknotes in the 50,000 (fifty thousand) rupiah denomination, and the year 1999 issue of banknotes in the

100,000 (one hundred thousand) rupiah denomination.
In view of: 1. Act Number 23 of 1999 concerning Bank Indonesia (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 66 of 1999, Supplement to the Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3843) as amended by Act Number 2 of 2008 (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 142 of 2008, Supplement to the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4901);
2. Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 6/14/PBI/2004 concerning
Issuance, Circulation, Revocation as Legal Tender, Withdrawal from Circulation, and Destruction of the Rupiah Currency (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 52 of 2004, Supplement to State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4338) as amended by Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 9/10/PBI/2007 (State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 113 of 2007, Supplement to State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4762); HAS DECREED To enact : THE BANK INDONESIA REGULATION CONCERNING REVOCATION AND WITHDRAWAL FROM CIRCULATION OF THE YEAR 1998 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 10,000 (TEN THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMINATION, THE YEAR 1998 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 20,000 (TWENTY THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMINATION, THE YEAR 1999 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 50,000 (FIFTY THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMINATION, AND THE YEAR 1999 ISSUE OF BANKNOTES IN THE 100,000 (ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND) RUPIAH DENOMINATION.
Article 1
(1) Bank Indonesia shall revoke and withdraw Rupiah currency from circulating consisting of the year 1998 issue of banknotes in the 10,000 (ten thousand) rupiah denomination, the year 1998 issue of banknotes in the 20,000 (twenty

Unofficial Translation thousand) rupiah denomination, the year 1999 issue of banknotes in the 50,000 (fifty thousand) rupiah denomination, and the year 1999 issue of banknotes in the 100,000 (one hundred thousand) rupiah denomination. (2) The rupiah currency revoked and withdrawn from circulation as referred to in
Article 1 is declared no longer valid as legal tender starting from December 31,
2008.
Article 2
The rupiah currency revoked and withdrawn from circulation as referred to in Article 1 may be exchanged at Bank Indonesia offices and/or Commercial banks.
Article 3
The period and location of exchange as referred to in Article 2 is stipulated as follows:

1. Starting from December 31, 2008 until December 31, 2013 the exchange shall be
   conducted at Bank Indonesia offices and/or Commercial banks.
2. Starting from December 31, 2013 until December 31, 2018 the exchange shall be
   conducted only at Bank Indonesia offices.
   Article 4
   The right to claim the exchange of rupiah currency revoked and withdrawn from circulation as referred to in Article 2 shall no longer be valid after 10 (ten) years starting from the date of revocation or December 31, 2018.
   Article 5
   This regulation of Bank Indonesia shall come into force on December 31, 2008. So everyone knows, it is ordered that this rule be published in the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia.
