Bangladesh Bank extends the deadline for new applications under the policy support scheme for restructuring affected borrowers to June 30, 2026, while excluding borrowers who previously received support. The circular permits special restructuring benefits for unclassified loans and special rescheduling benefits for classified loans, requiring banks to decide on new applications within three months of receipt. It replaces specific provisions regarding special exit facility loans to mandate general provision maintenance and restricts the transfer of specific provisions to income, while prohibiting new credit facilities for supported entities until full repayment. These instructions are issued under Section 49(1)(c) of the Companies Act, 1991, and take immediate effect.
