The Connecticut Department of Banking approved the opening of a Liberty Bank branch in Middletown and the merger of Northern Trust Global Advisors into The Northern Trust Company of Connecticut. Northwest Hills Credit Union, Inc. was granted approval to merge with C.H.H. Credit Union, Inc., while A1 Check Cashing LLC and Gold Star Check Cashing LLC filed for check-cashing service licenses. The Commissioner entered consent orders imposing civil penalties and restrictions on Prysma Lending Group, David Karat, Portfolio Timing Service, William F. Wadsworth, Jr., and Thomas C. Hanscome for violations including unlicensed mortgage lending and securities fraud.
