The Connecticut Department of Banking approved a limited branch for Bank of England in Berlin, Connecticut, and a branch for Sikorsky Financial Credit Union, Inc. in Stratford, while accepting the surrender of the check cashing license for Frog Bridge Check Cashing Plus, LLC. United Financial Bancorp, Inc. filed applications to acquire New England Bancshares, Inc. and merge New England Bank into United Bank, subject to a 30-day public comment period. Additionally, the Commissioner imposed a $5,000 fine on Brookville Capital Partners LLC for recordkeeping deficiencies and issued a cease and desist order against the Law Offices of Andrea Loveless for unlicensed debt negotiation activities.
