The Connecticut Department of Banking approved the merger of Hartford Postal Employees Credit Union into American Eagle Federal Credit Union. The Commissioner imposed civil penalties and cease-and-desist orders on Evans Law Associates, New Era Group, Cardinal Management, and National Creditline for operating without required licenses or violating interest rate caps, with penalties ranging from $3,000 to $100,000. Additionally, a temporary cease-and-desist order and notice of intent to impose penalties were issued against Alia Law Group and GMK Solutions for unlicensed debt negotiation activities.
