The Connecticut Department of Banking imposes $100,000 civil penalties and cease-and-desist orders on Nationwide Debt Services, LLC, George Russo & Associates, P.C., Forest Law Center, PLC, and Sentry Legal, PLLC for conducting unlicensed debt negotiation activities in violation of Connecticut General Statutes Section 36a-671(b). These orders follow previously issued restitution orders that became final or permanent in July, September, and October 2013. Additionally, the Department provides public notice of its intent not to disapprove Farmington Bank's application to open a branch at 366 Cromwell Avenue in Rocky Hill, CT, inviting written comments within ten days.
