The Department of Banking announces the closing of a Newtown Savings Bank branch at 1450 Southford Road and the filing for a branch at 278 Oxford Road, while soliciting public comments on these applications within ten days. First New England Federal Credit Union filed to convert to a state credit union with an expanded field of membership covering Hartford and Tolland counties. The Commissioner entered into consent orders requiring Kmart Corporation to pay $15,100 for unlicensed check-cashing, Condor Capital Corp. to return erroneous credit balances and prohibiting it from sales finance activities for seven years, and Silvermine Ventures to pay a $500 penalty for failing to update its NMLS filing.
