The Department of Banking approved Thomaston Savings Bank’s branch application and issued a notice of intent not to disapprove Newtown Savings Bank’s branch application. The Acting Commissioner entered into a consent order with Verizon Wireless Services, LLC, requiring a $10,000 civil penalty for operating as an unlicensed sales finance company. Additionally, a temporary cease and desist order and restitution order were issued against Michael R. Mazal for unlicensed debt negotiation, and a stipulation and agreement was finalized with Carolina Financial Securities, LLC, imposing a $2,500 fine for selling unregistered securities.
