The Connecticut Department of Banking approved Newtown Savings Bank to open a full-service branch at 32 Church Hill Road in Newtown. The Commissioner terminated Victory/Piaterer Mutual Benefit Association, appointed Larry Tucker as Agent, and ordered asset distribution for dissolution. The Department issued notices of intent to impose civil penalties and cease and desist orders against Lightning Mortgage Inc. for filing violations, and imposed $100,000 penalties and cease and desist orders on E.L.S. Marketing Inc. and Irene E. Smith for unlicensed debt negotiation. A consent order against Trade-PMR Inc. required enhanced supervisory procedures and established a $75,000 fund to compensate affected clients of J. Capital Advisors Wealth Management.
