The Department of Banking approves The Simsbury Bank & Trust Company to establish a full-service branch at 782 Park Avenue, Bloomfield, CT. The Commissioner issued a Temporary Order to Cease and Desist and an Order to Make Restitution against Smart Marketing Corp., Smart Family Group LLC, and Rency Mejia for engaging in unlicensed debt negotiation and mortgage loan origination, requiring $3,100 in restitution plus interest to affected Connecticut debtors. Additionally, an Order to Cease and Desist and Notice of Intent to Fine were issued against James Welsh and GHC Fund One LLC for selling unregistered securities and violating antifraud provisions regarding $350,000 in investor funds.
