Capital Markets Authority Unveils Five-Year Blueprint to Power Uganda’s Journey to a USD 500 Billion Economy

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) of Uganda has launched its Strategic Plan for FY 2025/26–2029/30 to deepen capital markets and support the government's goal of expanding the economy to USD 500 billion by 2040. The plan is anchored on four strategic objectives: facilitating long-term capital mobilization, increasing stakeholder participation, leveraging digital transformation, and strengthening governance and investor protection. Key initiatives include introducing Islamic finance products, infrastructure bonds, and green bonds to fund flagship projects in agro-industrialization, tourism, and science.
