Notice Relating to the Revision of Payment Deferral Measures for Loans by Financial Institutions and Trust Companies – COVID-19

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) has revised its special treatment rules for loans granted payment deferrals by financial institutions and trust companies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Loans receiving deferrals before this notice retain their classification as performing loans for up to six months, while new deferrals granted between the notice publication and September 30, 2020 qualify for a maximum of three months. Deferrals granted after September 30, 2020 are no longer eligible for this regulatory treatment, though the AMF will continue monitoring conditions and may adjust guidance as necessary.
