CBE Regulation Book 11.5 - Instructions For Facilitating The Access Of People With Disabilities, Illiterate People, And The Elderly To Services And Products
The Central Bank of Egypt extends the application of specific provisions from its September 30, 2021 circular on facilitating access for people with disabilities to illiterate persons and individuals aged 65 and older. The applicable provisions include general rules on communication pacing, due diligence procedures for illiterate clients, fairness principles regarding information accessibility, disclosure requirements for illiterate clients, and infrastructure accommodations for the elderly. These extensions are effective for a period not exceeding six months from the date of the circular dated September 3, 2023.
