Central Bank of Jordan Guide on Reporting Bounced Checks During the Corona Pandemic
The Central Bank of Jordan modifies the calculation of grace periods for bounced checks during the pandemic period from February 26 to May 21, 2020, by using calendar days instead of working days. Banks are required to report these checks using specific grace periods based on customer sectors and re-presentation dates, with a final reporting deadline of October 31, 2020. The collection of re-presentation fees is prohibited during the pandemic, and standard check instructions resume effective May 26, 2020.
