CIEX No. 40/2021: Use of Special Characters in Electronic Fund Transfer Orders

The Central Bank of Bolivia mandates that financial institutions participating in the Deferred Settlement Module of the Integrated Payment System (LIP) must configure their IT systems to accept a specific set of characters in Electronic Fund Transfer Order (OETF) fields. This requirement applies to uppercase and lowercase letters, digits 0-9, accented vowels, the letter ñ, vowels with diaeresis, and a defined list of special symbols. The regulation ensures that the application of Circular External CIEX No. 37/2021 is implemented with the correct character encoding standards.
