Circular 7/2014 modifies the procedure for acting as market makers for government securities by updating definitions and the calculation methodology for the Market Maker Index (IFM). The update introduces specific metrics for the Activity Index, Diversification Index, and incentives based on MexDer positions and operations, including point allocations for bid-ask spreads and ranking. Financial institutions and brokerage houses are required to submit necessary information to the Bank of Mexico to calculate their indices and incentives, with the modifications entering into force on May 16, 2014.
