CIRCULAR LETTER/CVM/SEP/NO. 02/01
Rio de Janeiro, February 9, 2001
Subject: Update of Registration Data and Notification of Material Fact
Dear Director,
The Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) will, starting from the current fiscal year, automatically update the registration data of open companies based on the information provided by them in the IAN, DFP, and ITR forms.
The objective of this procedure is to maintain registration data as up-to-date as possible, considering the most appropriate source of information, namely the open company itself.
However, for this objective to be achieved, it is necessary that open companies exercise due care and attention in filling out these information fields in the aforementioned IAN, DFP, and ITR forms. The data that will be automatically updated are:
A. In the IAN Form:
B. In the DFP and ITR Forms, in addition to the data cited above:
His Excellency,
Director of Investor Relations
It is essential to the success of maintaining the registration correctly updated that, under no circumstances, abbreviations or different spellings for the same registration data are used when filling out the aforementioned forms. Likewise, these fields cannot be used to present other information other than that which should be included therein.
We take the liberty of requesting your special attention to ensure that the above guidelines are transmitted to those individuals within the open company who are responsible for filling out the IAN, DFP, and ITR Forms.
Additionally, we request your special attention regarding the recently forwarded CIRCULAR LETTER/CVM/SEP/NO. 01/2001, which requests the sending to the electronic address fatorelevante@cvm.gov.br of the full text of Material Facts when disclosed by the open company through the press, as provided for in Article 3 of CVM Instruction No. 31/84.
In the aforementioned Circular Letter No. 01/2001, the following procedures are requested, which are not being followed by some companies, and regarding which we reiterate your special observance:
Thanking you in advance for your special attention.
Sincerely,
Fabio dos Santos Fonseca
Superintendent of Corporate Relations
