CIRCULAR LETTER/CVM/SEP/NO. 03/2004
Rio de Janeiro, April 13, 2004
Subject: New version of the ITR/DFP/IAN System (CVMWIN)
Dear Director of Investor Relations,
This Circular Letter is intended to inform publicly held companies that, starting April 19, 2004, version 6.0 of the CVMWIN system will be available for download on the CVM website (http://www.cvm.gov.br, MARKET PARTICIPANTS section, DOCUMENT SUBMISSION item, PROGRAM subitem) and on the BOVESPA website (http://www.bovespa.com.br, COMPANIES section, INFORMATION FOR COMPANIES item, ITR/DFP/IAN SYSTEM subitem) on the World Wide Web.
Until May 7, 2004, the CVM will accept ITR, DFP, and IAN files submitted using both versions of the CVMWIN system – 5.4 and 6.0. After this date, electronic files may only be submitted in the new version (6.0), including resubmissions.
The new version of CVMWIN brings significant changes to the Annual Information (IAN), improving the quality of information provided to investors.
We highlight below the most relevant changes contained in the new version:
Another relevant change concerns the text files submitted. The new version of CVMWIN saves texts in the version of Microsoft Word being used by the user. The installation of the new version must be done in the same directory where the current version is located and does not imply the loss of any information already existing there. We recommend that, before installing the new version, backups of existing files be made. It is important to read the system help before submitting any electronic file. Questions may be clarified by the CVM's Computer Systems Support.
Sincerely,
Signed original
ELIZABETH LOPEZ RIOS MACHADO
Superintendent of Corporate Relations
