Circular Letter CVM/SEP 06/10: New Version of the Program for Completing and Submitting the Reference Form – Empresas.net – Version 2.1

SUBJECT: New version of the program for completing and submitting the Reference Form – Empresas.net – Version 2.1

Dear Director of Investor Relations/Legal Representative,

This Circular Letter serves to inform open companies and foreign companies that, as of this date, a new version of the Empresas.net System (version 2.1) is available, which brings, primarily, improvements to frames 9.1.c (“Participation in companies”), 12.10 (“Subordination, service provision or control relationships”), 15.1/2 (“Shareholding position”), 17.2 (“Capital increases”) and 19.3 (“Treasury shares”) of the Reference Form.

This new version can be downloaded from the CVM’s website on the World Wide Web (http://www.cvm.gov.br, section MARKET PARTICIPANTS, item DOCUMENT SUBMISSION, subitem EMPRESAS.NET), as well as from the BM&FBOVESPA website (http://www.bmfbovespa.com.br, section SHARES, item COMPANIES, subitem FOR COMPANIES, subitem For Listed Cos, subitem EMPRESAS.NET).

Until 09.07.2010, issuers may choose to submit documents using versions 2.0 or 2.1 of Empresas.net. After this date, submission via version 2.1 of the program will be the only permitted method.

Issuers who have already submitted the Reference Form using version 2.0 do not need to resubmit it due to this new version 2.1.

Furthermore, we note that issuers who have already started completing the Registration Form or Reference Form in version 2.0 and wish to use version 2.1 to submit these documents must, before downloading the program, perform a backup of the documents (via the “Export” functionality) and, after installing the new version, must import them.

This procedure should also be adopted for Registration Forms and Reference Forms already submitted using previous versions.
