CIRCULAR LETTER/CVM/SGE/N.º 01/2003
Rio de Janeiro, January 22, 2003
Subject: Submission of Periodic and Occasional Information – IPE
Dear Director of Investor Relations,
This Circular Letter serves to inform publicly held companies that, starting from February 3, 2003, the submission of periodic and occasional information must be done, mandatorily, through the CVM's page on the worldwide computer network (http://www.cvm.gov.br). In this way, documents will no longer be delivered at the CVM and BOVESPA protocols or sent by registered mail.
The information covered by this circular refers to those provided for in items I, III, V, VI, in paragraphs 2 and 3, of article 16 and in items I to IV, of article 17 of CVM Instruction No. 202/93, in CVM Instruction No. 358/02, as well as other information established in other CVM normative acts or adopted by virtue of good corporate governance practice.
This measure is part of the CVM's action in the effort to facilitate compliance by companies with regulatory disclosure obligations to participants in the capital market and was developed in partnership with BOVESPA. Therefore, the documents and information sent will be available simultaneously on the CVM and BOVESPA pages, in the case of companies registered there, with the exception of the article 11 communication form (individual) of CVM Instruction No. 358/02, not disclosed by the CVM, but which may be subject to special treatment by BOVESPA for those that are part of Level 1, Level 2, and the New Market.
Relevant facts, changes in the policy of disclosure of relevant acts or facts and in the policy of trading shares, as well as communications of article 11 of CVM Instruction No. 358/02, will be forwarded by the IPE system and no longer in the form established by Circular Letters/CVM/SGE/ Nos. 01 and 02 of 2002. However, the other guidelines contained in those circulars remain unchanged.
Companies may request the CVM to send documents not provided for in the Periodic and Occasional Information system - IPE for disclosure to the market, noting that the electronic submission of annual (IAN), quarterly (ITR), and standardized financial statements (DFP) has not undergone any type of change.
Access to the system on the CVM page will be through the Documents Submission, IPE option, using the same CVMWIN identification, that is, number 397 followed by the company's registration code at the CVM and the password. It should be noted that upon first access, it will be necessary to update your data in the DRI REGISTRATION module.
Finally, we recommend reading the "IPE Manual" which is available on the CVM page.
Sincerely,
Signed original
