Circular Letter No. 1.412: Clarifying Circular BCB No. 1.023/86 on Investments by Mutual Equity Funds

Mutual Equity Funds must allocate 75% of their net incoming resources — the difference between new inflows and redemptions — to investment in fixed-income securities. They may still purchase shares with remaining net resources or in position-swap operations, and formalized commitments to subscribe to shares in a public offering assumed before Circular No. 1.023 of 15.04.86 may be honored regardless of this adaptation. In verifying compliance with item "a" of Circular No. 1.023, the current value of unavailable investments arising from the transformation or merger of the extinct Fiscal Funds into Mutual Equity Funds, under Resolution No. 1.023 of 05.06.85, is not counted.
