Circular No. 2452 — Establishes Complementary Rules Regarding the Opening, Maintenance, and Movement of Deposit Accounts

All financial institutions and other entities authorized by the Central Bank of Brazil must identify depositors, keep archived legible copies of identity documents, and indicate how depositors will be informed of minimum average balance updates. Institutions may centralize documentation within the same municipality if real-time computerized access is available, use single proposal forms for multiple accounts in the same conglomerate, and abbreviate names in magnetic records. Legal entity depositors are exempt from submitting representative information, while natural persons not obligated to register with CPF or CGC are considered exempt. The circular enters into force upon publication.
