2002-06-27 | Circular 3129Added
Circular No. 3129 amends the accounting recognition and evaluation criteria for securities and financial derivatives, specifically permitting securities classified as held-to-maturity to be subject to hedging. The regulation modifies the cash flow projection requirements for demonstrating financial capacity by excluding the possibility of selling these securities and mandates that derivative instruments used for hedging be evaluated without considering market value adjustments. These changes apply to financial institutions regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil and entered into force on the date of publication, June 27, 2002, while revoking Circular No. 2,278 effective June 30, 2002.
