Financial institutions and other entities authorized by the Central Bank of Brazil are permitted to adjust their public service hours while the public health risk from Covid-19 persists, provided essential services are maintained. This waives the prior communication requirement for such changes, as per Article 4 of Resolution No. 2,932/2002. Multiple banks with a commercial portfolio, commercial banks, and savings banks are specifically exempt from mandatory uninterrupted service hours in their branches, as per Article 1, § 1, item I, of Resolution No. 2,932/2002. Institutions must post notices and inform customers about new hours and any special access conditions to prevent crowding.
