The European Commission amends Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/1732 to harmonize and simplify the fees charged by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) to securitisation repositories. The changes require repositories to submit audited accounts by 30 September annually, establish a specific mechanism for converting non-euro revenues using European Central Bank rates, and exempt repositories registered in December from the annual supervisory fee for that year. Additionally, ESMA is prohibited from refunding registration, extension-of-registration, or annual supervisory fees, and late payments now incur default interest under Regulation (EU, Euratom) 2018/1046. These provisions apply from 1 January 2025.
