Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/1493 amending Regulation (EU) No 876/2013 on colleges for central counterparties
The European Commission amends Delegated Regulation (EU) No 876/2013 to align the functioning and management of central counterparty (CCP) colleges with changes introduced by Regulation (EU) 2024/2987. The amendments establish a co-chair structure comprising the CCP’s competent authority and an independent member of the CCP Supervisory Committee, assigning ESMA a coordination role and requiring the co-chairs to discuss annual supervisory priorities. The regulation mandates that college members exchange information through a central database, updates the list of required information items to include cyber incidents and outsourcing changes, and sets specific deadlines for submitting comments on written agreements and handling participation requests. This regulation enters into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
