Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2180 on regulatory technical standards for external reviewers
The European Commission adopted Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2180 to supplement Regulation (EU) 2023/2631 by establishing regulatory technical standards for the registration and supervision of external reviewers. The regulation specifies criteria for assessing the good repute, skills, and experience of senior management and board members, as well as the sufficiency of staff numbers and qualifications for analysts. It mandates sound corporate governance, internal control frameworks, and conflict of interest policies, while defining strict conditions and oversight requirements for outsourcing assessment activities to third parties. Personal data related to the good repute of management must be retained for no longer than five years after the individual ceases their function.
